Chicago resident Sean Tenner holds a BA in American government from Georgetown University, and is the president of KNI communications and a public policy expert. As a former senior consultant with M + R Strategic Services in Chicago, Sean Tenner spent many years working with organizations such as Susan G. Komen and state officials to further research and enact groundbreaking legislation to fight breast cancer.

Early identification and screening for breast cancer are crucial to increasing the chances of survival in women. Mammogram is a procedure that utilizes X-rays to provide images of the breast, and can help detect breast cancer as much as ten years before a physician would otherwise discover it. Furthermore, years of research in breast cancer continue to provide better detection, prevention, and treatment methods.

Susan G. Komen is a nonprofit organization that has invested and continues to invest millions of dollars (over $2 billion total) to support programs and research to find a cure for the disease and help those suffering from it. Susan G. Komen is also a strong advocacy group that works to improve access to high-quality treatment.

KNI Communications, Susan G. Komen’s partner, has also contributed to the fight against breast cancer by working to pass legislation such as the “Reducing Breast Cancer Disparities Act” to help low-income, uninsured women receive high-quality screening and diagnostic services.
